Broward Center of Holistic Medicine is committed to making this website usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. We treat digital accessibility as part of our duty of care: a healthcare practice that cannot be reached by its patients is not serving them.

Conformance target

This site aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. We review against this standard on an ongoing basis as the site evolves.

What we have implemented

• Semantic HTML with landmarks (header, nav, main, footer) and skip-to-main link.
• Keyboard-reachable interactive elements with visible focus rings (2 px solid red, 2 px offset).
• Color contrast meeting or exceeding WCAG 2.2 AA for all body copy and interactive elements.
• Responsive layouts that reflow without horizontal scrolling down to 320 px.
• Respect for the prefers-reduced-motionsystem setting — animation durations collapse to near-zero when requested.
• ARIA attributes only where HTML semantics are insufficient, to avoid over-describing the interface.
• Alternative text on all informational imagery.

Known limitations

We are actively improving the following:

• Some linked third-party tools (scheduling, supplements) are outside our control.
• PDF documents on the site are being audited and remediated on a rolling basis; contact us for an accessible alternative if you encounter one that is not yet remediated.

Assessment approach

The site is evaluated through a combination of automated testing (axe-core), manual keyboard testing, and screen-reader spot checks (VoiceOver, NVDA). We re-audit after significant design changes and at least once per year.
