Step 01 / 03
01/03
Collect the pieces
Your consultation is all about collecting all the pieces of the puzzle — symptoms, history, labs, lifestyle, patterns the standard visit missed.
How it works
We are not looking to simply mask symptoms. Your care plan starts with a full picture — then targets the mechanisms driving how you actually feel.
Step 01 / 03
01/03
Your consultation is all about collecting all the pieces of the puzzle — symptoms, history, labs, lifestyle, patterns the standard visit missed.
Step 02 / 03
02/03
We combine advanced functional diagnostics with classical Chinese medicine diagnostics to find what is actually driving your symptoms.
Step 03 / 03
03/03
A personalized protocol combining nutrition, herbs, acupuncture, supplementation, and lifestyle changes — explained, not prescribed.

Your first visit is up to 60 minutes — in-office at our Sunrise clinic or via secure telehealth, whichever fits you better. We walk through your full history — not only what brings you in now, but the thread leading up to it. Diet, sleep, stress, environment, family history, prior diagnoses, medications, supplements, and the labs you already have.
We do a traditional Chinese medicine intake alongside a functional-medicine intake. Tongue, pulse, abdomen. Meridian patterns. Inflammation markers, micronutrient status, hormones, thyroid, gut, adrenals. Each tradition sees different things, and we use both to triangulate.
By the end of the visit, you know what we think is going on, what testing would confirm it, and what a realistic treatment arc looks like.
Sometimes standard tests are not enough. Innovative tests can be very valuable in identifying undetected causes of ailments. Functional Medicine is when you use these tests to understand the biochemistry behind a disease process and then apply the corresponding care to correct the imbalances.
In Functional Medicine, we also work in functional ranges versus regular laboratory ranges. This range is smaller and is where that marker is optimal. If you are normal-lab-low or normal-lab-high, this is a gray area where you may not be fully diseased or diagnosable, but you are beginning to experience symptoms. FM recognizes these gray areas and starts to address them before they become diseased.
When standard bloodwork is not enough, we order from seven categories of advanced functional testing — gut, organic acids, nutrients, heavy metals, adrenals, mold/mycotoxins, and food sensitivities. See the testing panels for detail.
Once we have the full picture, we design an individualized plan. A protocol may combine:
Treatment is paced. We explain why each piece is in the plan, what to expect, and when we expect to see change. If something is not working, we adjust — we don’t push a protocol onto a body that is telling us to go differently.
No. Functional and Chinese medicine work alongside conventional care. We do not prescribe medications or stop any prescribed by your other providers without coordination.
Up to 60 minutes — in-office or telehealth. Plan on a thorough conversation; it is the single most important diagnostic we have.
We are an out-of-network practice. We provide a detailed superbill you can submit to your insurer for potential reimbursement. HSA and FSA cards are accepted for eligible services.
It depends on the case. Many patients notice meaningful change within 4–8 weeks; complex or long-standing conditions require a longer arc. We set realistic checkpoints at the start so progress is measurable.
The needles are hair-thin and most patients feel little more than a gentle pressure. Many find the sessions deeply relaxing.
Yes, we see pediatric and adolescent patients — including developmental, digestive, and neurological presentations. Pediatric care is gentle and parent-involved.
Call the office to confirm fit and reserve your new-patient visit.
